Wir sind endlich in Berlin!
The students arrived in Berlin on Sunday after a long day of travel, some flight delays, and little sleep. Despite the jetlag, the students showed up to the CIEE Center (known as G27) with smiling faces. After arrival, students enjoyed a lunch buffet and some ice breakers with their Program Leaders. Shortly thereafter, the students met their host families for the first time and traveled home for some Abendbrot (dinner) and some much needed sleep.
On Monday, the students traveled back to G27 for orientation. After some delicious Pizza, the students embarked on their first cultural excursion: a tour of Mitte. The tour guides showed the students the famous Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, and Checkpoint Charlie.
Today, the students are taking a tour of the Kiez (neighborhood) that surrounds G27 after their first day of German classes.
We are all so excited to be in Berlin and can’t wait for the upcoming week!
