Exploring the Reichstag Dome
On Monday, students from the Language and Culture program had the opportunity of visiting the iconic dome atop the Reichstag, the seat of Germany’s federal parliament (the Bundestag).
As they ascended the ramp leading to the dome’s viewing platform, students were immersed in the historical significance of the structure and about its unique architectural elements. The informative journey also covered the function of nearby government office buildings, an overview of other significant landmarks viewable from within the dome, and the dome's technological features that go far beyond being a simple outlook point.
While looking down, students could peer into the legislative chambers, offering a rare glimpse into the heart of Germany's political landscape. This experience provided participants with an appreciation for the innovative design that symbolizes transparency and democracy and undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the students while enriching their academic journey.
