Welcome to Palma
We’ve had a fabulous first week here in beautiful Palma, Mallorca. The students quickly immersed themselves into the culture as they met and became acquainted with their host families, their Program Leaders, and each other. Students learned how to navigate the Palma public bus system as many traveled to and from our first week of school, participated in our first Marine Biology and Spanish classes, and had the opportunity for free time to swim, snorkel, and relax on the beautiful beaches in and around Palma. A highlight of the week was a visit to Dragonera Island. Sa Dragonera is an uninhabited islet in the Balearic Islands, Spain, located just off the west coast of Majorca. It is currently a natural park. Students participated in field work aligned with their coursework, and enjoyed a hike to the end of the island.
