Making our mark on Rennes!
Today Session 2 students had a chance to learn about graffiti and street art by taking a tour with local artists. They learned the history of graffiti and got to see samples of work by various local graffiti artists, including some art work done by our guides! After seeing some examples, the students got to try their hands at graffiti! The students decided on a phrase to create together, and then after a short tutorial by our guides, they got to work. Everyone got to participate in the process, and the students loved seeing their hard work come together in a way that everyone in Rennes can enjoy. The group decided to create the phrase "Rennes est reine", meaning "Rennes is queen." This is a play on words, as Rennes and reine (queen) are pronounced exactly the same way in French. So far, this has definitely been one of the highlights for many in the group!
