La aventura empieza en Madrid
Bienvenidos todos to the second session of the Madrid Language & Culture program. We are excited to start this journey with you.
After a long journey across the pond, the students made it to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport in Madrid, Spain where they were welcomed by CIEE staff. The students collected their things and were escorted to a hotel to meet their host families.
From there, they made their way to the places they would call home for the next four weeks. Once the students were comfortable and sorted in their bedrooms and new pisos, they logged into a short introductory meeting with CIEE staff and program leaders. After the meeting, the students enjoyed free time with their host families and relaxed before heading into a week of fun cultural activities.
On Monday, the students met their barrio groups and PLs in person for the first time. Everyone walked over to Retiro Park (Madrid's Central Park) to play games, get to know each other through icebreakers and talk about health and safety. Before heading back home for lunch, the students explored the park and learned other useful tips and Madrid lifehacks from their PL.
¡Hasta pronto!
