Graffiti Tour in Poblenou and El Raval
On Thursday, the students went with a local artist to explore street art in Barcelona. Half of the students went to the Raval neighborhood and the others to Poblenou.
We learned about different graffiti techniques like stenciling and paste-up and saw various examples on the tour.
The students were required to interact with the tour guide as part of the weekly Community Conversation. Many were interested in the legality of graffiti in Barcelona, the origins of artists, and the effect tourism has had on the city.
Despite the heat, the students seemed to enjoy the tour and learn about the graffiti scene. You might see it all over their Instagram profiles.
