A Travel Day Reminder of Why We Are Here
Our journey to Rennes started with our travel day on Saturday. All in all, it was a relatively calm day and we were proud of how our navigators literally navigated the airport and the jet lag of a long flight.
Participants on the group flight from JFK had a chance encounter with a CIEE study abroad alum who saw their blue CIEE t-shirts. Hannah came over and introduced herself as an alum of the Madrid program in 2011. She encouraged our navigators, telling them study abroad was the best thing she's ever done. She said "it changed my life in every sense of the word". Hannah improved her Spanish language skills in Madrid and is still bilingual. She also has been back to visit friends that she made in Spain.
What a great reminder of the transformational impact of study abroad! We know that this summer will be transformational for our navigators, too.
