Tibidabo Attraction Park: What a Ride!
After a fun-filled week of new friendships and getting to know beautiful Barcelona, our students wrapped up their first week with a bang on one of two Saturday excursions - the Roman ruins and stunning coastline of Empúries, or at the historic Tibidabo Attraction Park.
Located high up in the Collserola Mountains with views of the city skyline reaching out to the Mediterranean sea, Tibidabo Attraction Park is the third oldest amusement park in Europe and the oldest in Spain! While taking in the history, our gang enjoyed the rush of the rollercoasters, a ferris wheel, a virtual reality experience and ice cold ice cream to beat the heat (and it was hot out there!)
After making our way up the winding mountain road, but prior to entering the park, we enjoyed stunning 360 degree views from the Temple of Sagrada Corazón Church, where we were able to pinpoint some of Barcelona's most famous sights - La Sagrada Familia, Montjuic and Barceloneta beach - with a bird's eye panoramic view unlike anywhere else in the city.
Weekend excursions are not just a fun way to escape the city, but enable our students to solidify new friendships and practice their Spanish in diverse encounters. Rested and refreshed, we're all ready to head into our second week - what a ride!
