Shopping at Mercat de l'Olivar
Day 2 and off to the well-known Mercat de l'Olivar. From fresh fruit to cured "jamon," this market sells everything and more! Students were given the task of communicating with vendors in order to purchase one ingredient their host families need in order to make a meal for them. They learned lots of new food related vocabulary (and then got to taste a bunch of new things as well). After filling their bellies with all the delicious snacks, it was off to class! They met their Spanish teacher and started brainstorming and working on their final projects... we can't wait to see what they come up with!
