Potsdam und mehr!
We had the incredible experience to leave Berlin and visit Potsdam, a city about an hour outside Berlin in the state of Brandenburg. The city is the former residence of Prussian kings and full of rich history. While enjoying the town center filled with shops and cafes, the highlight of the trip was absolutely the palace Sanssouci. Completed in the year 1747, this was the residence of the Prussian King Frederick the Great. Students were able to tour the Sanssouci Palace (which translates from French to "without a care") and learn about the history of it and Frederick the Great via an audio guide in either English or German.
Students are bonding with their host families and getting to know each other! From bike rides, dinners full of conversations to boat rides down the Spree River taking in the sites of Berlin, we are very lucky to have our amazing host families! The first weekend in Berlin was a great one and we cannot wait to see what comes next!
