Le Jardin est vert? Oui!
This week's theme has been about discovering organizations that support local initiatives. Wednesday, students learned about an urban community garden whose mission is to provide gardening space and advice to community members and a location to deposit food waste and take compost for gardening needs. Students worked on several projects to improve the garden space, including painting, planting, building a safety wall around a pond, cutting grass, and using grass clippings and other organic materials to enrich and protect plants. Students learned new vocabulary and expressions in a truly "hands-on" way while contributing to a great cause.
