Hiking the Great Wall of China
With much anticipation, our global navigators in Beijing set out to hike a portion of the great wall known as Jinshanling - located two hours outside of Beijing in Hebei province, this portion of the wall is partially restored and partially original. Not as many people venture to this section of the wall because there are other sections closer to Beijing. Nonetheless, we're glad we made the trip because we ALMOST had the wall entirely to ourselves.
We then finished off the night staying with a local villager in the mountains whose house boasts multiple views of the Great Wall - students were even able to enjoy sunset on the mountain behind the villagers house. In addition, our host had apricot trees growing in his backyard providing us with constant snacks!
