First Impressions: Montjuïc and Port de Barcelona
We have arrived and students couldn't be more excited to start exploring Barcelona!
After moving in with their host families, finishing orientation, and fighting off jet lag, the program kicked off with a guided bus ride to see our new home.
The highlight of the tour took us to the top of a small yet indispensable hill where the city first began, Montjuïc, which boasts a palace, the site of the 1992 Olympics, and a fortress with roots dating back to the 17th Century.
From the top of the historic fortress, students enjoyed the views overlooking the city and its distant monuments, mountains, and sea.
To get back to the bus, we rode the cable cars to the bottom where we concluded our first adventure in the city.
The next day, our excursion took us to the port, where we boarded a catamaran that allowed students to enjoy Montjuïc and the rest of the city's unique skyline from the water.
Students are looking forward to continue exploring more of their temporary summer home!
