DE CEUVEL (Learning more about Sustainability)
We spent part of this day exploring a project that has been in process for 10 years. Luckily their grant has been renewed!
This small area of Amsterdam has been re-vitalized. Old boats were brought ashore and transformed into offices. This land was a previous dockyard with a vast amount of toxic chemicals in the land and water. By planting various types of plants that can filter toxic chemicals the land is gradually being restored.
De Ceuvel is a relaxing calm location, boardwalks wind through the various boat/offices. Creativity abounds... They also happen to have a lovely hotel and a great cafe!
All should stop by and enjoy this spot.
