Adventure to Rotterdam
This past weekend was a whrilwind! On Thursday we traveled from our beloved Amsterdam to Rotterdam, a more modern city south of Amsterdam. Our visit included a trip to the innovative and amazing Rotterdam Floating Farm, which aims to sustainably produce the city's food supply right within a floating farm in the harbor. Our students loved meeting the cows and trying the various dairy products the farm produces.
We were treated to a delicious lunch before heading to the WWII museum in Rotterdam, which helped give us the historical context necessary to understand how modern Rotterdam came to be. The action packed day didn't stop there though, because after that it was time for us to get ready for the unlimited pancake boat, an activity some students treated as a challenge. Luckily, everyone's stomach survived the trip.
After our return to Amsterdam we had some time to rest before heading to Ij-Hallen on Sunday, Europe's largest flea market that takes place at NDSM in Amsterdam Noord. Our students spent the afternoon hunting for great thrifted finds after a delicious pancake lunch. All in all, the past few weeks with our global navigators have been a blast, and now it's time to take it easy and enjoy our final days in Amsterdam.
