A Day Trip to Potsdam!
On Saturday, CIEE Berlin took our first trip out of the city. Our destination? The beautiful and historic Potsdam. We didn’t let the heat stop us from enjoying a day full of exploration and adventure. We meandered Potsdam’s historic streets, walked through the city’s Brandenburger Tor, played cards in the Sanssouci gardens, toured the palace, and went on a boat cruise across the seven connected lakes nearby! Our audio-guided tours taught us about Frederick the Great’s summer residence, Sanssouci (“Carefree”) Palace. The ornate, nature-themed guest room—nicknamed the “Voltaire Room” after its frequent occupier—was a popular favorite among CIEE Berlin.
