Český Krumlov - Overnight Trip
Český Krumlov - Overnight Trip
It is difficult to capture the magic of the medieval village of Český Krumlov in words. The name of the town means "Czech crooked meadow" as we learned on our city and castle tour on Sunday morning.
We traveled to Český Krumlov by private bus and spent two nights enjoying the village. It was a nice break from the business of Prague - we could get everywhere on foot in just about a 10 minute walk! Český Krumlov is known for beautiful handmade wooden objects that you can find in many shops.
The village is a peninsula that was once part of the Bohemian kingdom and has been ruled over the years by 3 important families. Today, the castle holds a mixture of styles and relics from all of the rulers. We enjoyed strolling the cobblestone streets and appreciating the winding river and the sound of the water.
The weather was extremely hot, so we were grateful to have fans in the hotel room and great windows with a beautiful view.
Highlights of the weekend included
- Presenting comics at the end of an art workshop with the artist "Toy Box"
- Cooling off with a swim in the river
- Views from the castle
- Dressing up in old style clothing
- A photography demonstration in the dark room
