Ceramics Time!
This week our participants have been rotating through a variety of different cultural activities, one of which was a fun ceramics class!
Our class started out with a brief introduction to ceramics and some useful vocabulary in Spanish. María, our teacher for the afternoon, then instructed us on how to properly glaze the ceramic mugs that had been prepared for us ahead of time.
Each student decorated their own mug and soon we'll be picking them up from the studio so that students can take them home as a homemade souvenir!
After helping to clean up the studio, a few kids got to try out wheel throwing, which is much harder than it looks!
