Karen Hendrickson
Karen's Program
Konnichiwa! My name is Karen Hendrickson and I will have the priviledge of being a Program Leader for Session 1 of the Japanese Language and Culture program this year. This will be my - wait for it - EIGHTH time as a PL, which tells you how much I love this program. You know what else I love? Japan! My first trip (of over 30, I might add) was as an AFS exchange student in high school. I am eager to share this upcoming adventure with you, be it speaking Japanese, visiting public baths, doing karaoke, seeking out yummy food, or - my favorite - just enjoying the day-to-day details of life in Japan. I currently teach Japanese language and culture to high school students in Wisconsin. When not teaching or preparing to teach, I like cycling, power walking, and listening to R&B/funk/disco and podcasts. I am a news junkie. What do y'all like to do? What excites you about our upcoming time in Japan? I am looking forward to meeting you and finding out!
