Overview
Explore Milan in style as you develop your fashion design skills with a pair of custom sneakers

Strut into the heart of fashion in northern Italy, where every step inspires creativity and innovation. Milan’s decades-long tradition of craftsmanship and textile production is a fabulous backdrop to experience the design process—from conception to prototypes. Spend your mornings at Arsutoria, a world-leading school for footwear, researching materials, drafting sketches, and using design technology. After class, gain insights from industry professionals. In the end, design, assemble, and take home a pair of customized sneakers!

Meet local fashion entrepreneurs and visit ateliers (private artist workshops). Learn how to present your creations with a professional stylist. Draw inspiration from exhibits at the historic Palazzo Morando. Discuss fast-fashion and sustainability, too.

When not working on your designs, stroll the streets of Milan’s Quadrilatero della Moda, a neighborhood lined with boutiques and high-end fashion houses. On excursions, discover what other northern cities like Venice and Verona have to offer. In Milan, you’ll savor the chance to vivi la tua vita al meglio (live life to the fullest) and get a new perspective on fashion!

The Destination

Welcome to Milan, a cosmopolitan city at the heart of the world’s leading trends and prestigious fashion houses.

Nestled in northern Italy, Milan is a city dripping with historic and modern charm, not far from the natural beauty of Lake Como and the Italian Alps. Its strategic location as the gateway to Europe has historically allowed the easy exchange of goods and ideas, shaping it into Italy's economic and financial capital.

The city's legacy of craftsmanship and luxury dates back to the Renaissance, a tradition that continues to shape Milan's influence on international fashion and design. Today, Milan hosts one of the world's most famous Fashion Weeks and is a hub for renowned brands like Armani, Versace, Valentino, and Prada.

Beyond fashion, Milan is celebrated for its contributions to Italy's art and culinary scene. Witness masterpieces like da Vinci's "The Last Supper" at the Santa Maria delle Grazie church. Marvel at the Duomo, a Gothic cathedral boasting intricately carved spires that took almost 600 years to build. Savor local specialties like Risotto alla Milanese, a rice dish made with saffron and Parmesan cheese, and espresso, an art of brewing coffee refined in Milan.
