Week 2 Adventures
This week, students are diving into the culture of Mérida. They participated in a workshop about the Day of the Dead (El Día de los Muertos), or as it is known in this region, Hanal Pixan. This is a time of rememberance and celebration of those who have passed. Students were able to see a traditional altar, make papel picado (a colorful paper decoration), and even paint their faces.
Students also participated in a macramé workshop to decorate sombreros.
Some of our students also got to practice their Spanish by going out to buy ice cream at a local heladería. ¡Qué rico!
