Vert le Jardin
On Thursday, students visited Vert le Jardin, a community garden in Rennes. Students used their language skills to cooperate and complete tasks such as painting wooden signs, weeding the garden, making signposts for plants, removing vines, planting green onions, and creating a border around the garden. They were passionate about their community service project and persevered even through the rain!
Following the activity, students interviewed the women who run the garden about the future of Rennes and sustainability, which was a contribution for their OZ de français as well as their weekly class presentations. Some students purchased recycled shirts with the Vert le Jardin logo as a souvenir and asked to come back to volunteer during free time!
