Trip to Tiananmen Square & Forbidden Palace
The first trip I took with my CIEE group was to see Tian’men Square, the Urban Planning Museum, and the Forbidden City. While in Tian’men Square we got to experience the spire as well as view the guard who protects the flag of China. In the Urban Planning Museum, we got to look at a model of the city of Beijing and a plan to help get rid of air pollution. While at the Forbidden City, we got to see the office, bedroom, and rest area for the emperor. We also got an in depth explanation of the emperors personal life. In the back of the Forbidden City we saw a garden with many trees and how old they were. A beautiful sight for all to see.
