日本へよこそう! Welcome to Japan!
「日本へよこそう」meaning, Welcome to Japan, is typically one of the first things students heard as they arrived in Japan!
Travel day was a success as all the students made their way from all over the country and we are all finally in Tokyo! The students were able to experience their first night in Japan in a Japanese hotel and explore on their own for the first time! In the morning, we made our way to orientation where the students met their PLs and fellow group members, learned about what the program will look like from day to day, safety practices, and bystander intervention training!
After orientation, the students made their way to meet their homestay families! After they departed with CIEE staff, they made the journey home from school and began their stay with their new family for the month!
Tuesday June, 11th is the first day of school! The students made their ways from their various homestay family locations to one of two schools where their Japanese language classes begin! They are eager to begin learning so they can better communicate with their families and interact with the Japanese community!
These first couple of days is always so new and exciting for students! As we begin our journey in Japan, we hope that they enjoy their time and are able to learn about Japanese culture in an engaging way!
