a presentation about China's transformation
Today, we had a Franco-British give a presentation about China's transformation within the recent decades. He explained how even though China was already progressing very fast, the 2008 Olympics gave the country a huge leap in infrastructure due to the creation of 13 subway lines in preparation for the event. I thought that it was interesting how the youth in China tend to spend more rather than save because at first, I thought that parents who grew up intougher conditions would want their children to save more money. He also talked about his experience as a high school student in China and summarized it as a good experience as he said it was like a "fresh start" and a "new identity". Overall, it was a very informative lecture that I enjoyed listening to.
