Peixe, Mercado e Jogo!
Students began their day navigating through a traditional open market in Setúbal. One of the top five open markets in the world, they witnessed the dynamic and exciting atmosphere.
We were introduced to a local fisher woman, Sandra, who revealed what life on the water looks like. A second generation fisherwoman, she guided us through the challenges and rewards that comes with her role.
After the market we explored a local museum that catalogued the sardine industry from a hundred years ago.
We returned to the hostel this evening to prepare a beautiful feast of fresh fish and local delicacies. Students offered their culinary skills as we got ready to enjoy the colorful spread.
We ended the day reflecting on the incredible community and people we met, improvising and playing games!
Boa noite!
