Our first few days in Paris!
Bonjour from Paris!
Upon arrival, Sunday, we were greeted with smiles from the local CIEE staff. We were brought to our residence where each student received keys to their own studio apartment to call their home for the next 3 weeks. We had lunch together (a variety of traditional French sandwiches, chips, and desserts) and were given a brief orientation of our surrounding area, expectations, and metro cards. There was a group dinner that evening at a local restaurant where the students enjoyed various flammekueche, which is Alsacien style pizza.
Monday, the students had orientation, met their teachers, learned more about the program's objectives & expectations, had a group lunch at a local restaurant with various tapas, took a Bateau-Mouche (boat ride) on the Seine, and dinner on their own with their tickets-resto! The students are bonding and getting to know each other very quickly.
Tuesday, the students had their first class and visited the Eiffel Tower! They were given tickets to go all the way to the top! It was a beautiful day for taking pictures of the amazing view from above. Tuesday evening ended with another group dinner at a local restaurant where students enjoyed chicken breast in a Camembert sauce, pasta, salad and chocolate mousse.
This week is full of visits to major tourist sites and will end with a weekend getaway to Lyon! Stay tuned to find out more about what these fashionistas are learning and doing while living their best life in Paris!
