Musée des Beaux-Arts
Art is not what you see, but what you make others see. -Edgar Degas
Today we visited to Musée des Beaux Arts in Rennes. Dating back to the 18th century, the museum today houses paintings, sculptures, and artifacts dating from the ancient Celts, Greeks, and Egyptians to modern masterpieces. Students chose works of art they particulary liked and had converstions about them, reflecting on the style, the artist's purpose and message, and their own interpretations of it. The depth and insight of the students' observations were very impressive.
