Mayapan
This time we got the chance to visit an archaeological site called “Mayapan” which means “Flag of the Mayans”.
This was our first time visiting Mayan ruins during session 2! All students were very excited: at the beginning it was very hot, but students didn’t give up and explored the whole site!
There were many small constructions, and a lot of questions came when we saw them. Fortunately, we had someone who explained the history of that beautiful place. Something very interesting was that it looked a lot like Chichen Itzá! It emerged in the late Post-classic period and it was known as the most important Mayan city before the Spaniards arrived.
Besides exploring and having fun, we also had an important task: we needed to take a “creative” picture. Why? Because there’s a contest! So, every group of class needed to participate. We will know the who the winner is until next Monday. So far, the group 3B is in first place…anything can happen!
