Day Trip to Carcassonne
As we set out on our Thursday adventure, the Aerospace students were abuzz with excitement as we made our way to the medieval gem of Carcassonne. The moment we arrived, we were greeted by our French teachers, who warmly welcomed us to this ancient city and led us on a journey through time.
Our first stop was the ramparts of Carcassonne, where we embarked on a thrilling tour that wound its way through the city's mighty walls. As we walked, our guides spoke of tales of the city's rich history, revealing the secrets and stories hidden within the stones. We marveled at the stunning architecture and gazed out at the breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
But the pièce de résistance was yet to come - a visit to the majestic Château Comtal, the stronghold of Carcassonne's feudal past. As we explored the castle's ancient halls and chambers, we discovered a treasure trove of historical artifacts and relics, each one revealing a glimpse into the lives of those who once called this fortress home.
As we wandered through the castle's winding corridors and grand chambers, our imaginations ran wild with visions of knights in shining armor, ladies in flowing gowns, and royal processions making their way through these very halls. It was a truly immersive experience, transporting us back in time to an era of chivalry and honor, where legends were forged and heroes were born.
As the day drew to a close, we reluctantly bid farewell to Carcassonne's medieval splendor.
