A Cultural Fusion: Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony and the Invention of 太极球
In a unique cultural exchange, students immersed themselves in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, savoring the rich history and intricate rituals of this ancient practice. Students enjoyed sipping on fragrant tea and engaging in community conversations with instructors. They were also introduced to the exhilarating sport of TaiChi Ball by a master who invented the game here at East China Normal University in 2019. Students practiced using their whole bodies to move gracefully through the air while propelling the ball across the net. Combining the tranquility of tea culture with the dynamic energy of TaiChi Ball, students experience a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, gaining insights into both Chinese heritage and modern sporting prowess.
