Cité de l’espace- Space for real
We visited the Cité de l’espace, a scientific cultural center dedicated to the discovery of space and astronomy. Among other exhibits, students got to explore the MIR station where they learned how astronauts live and work in orbit. The MIR space station is the ancestor of the ISS (International Space Station), and orbited the Earth for 15 years.
We visited the planetarium, which was a novel experience for many students. Here they observed the night sky and the various constellations. We also watched a film, “Deep sky, the adventures of the James Webb Telescope”. Through this film we relived the lift-off of this space observatory at the top of the Ariane 5 and became passengers in a machine that travels through the cosmos and time.
After a long day, students enjoyed free time and bonded with their peers over a game of chess, foosball and skyjo. Others retired to the solitude of their rooms to relax and unwind for the night.
