Arriving to Barcelona
As we step out of the airplane, the warm Mediterranean air hits us, and we can't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for the adventure that awaits us on our CIEE Spanish Language & Culture program in Barcelona. The airport is bustling with people speaking in Spanish and Catalan, and the students' eyes widen as they take in the new sights and sounds around them.
As we make our way to our accommodations, students can feel each other’s nervous energy mixed with their excitement. Program Leaders reassure them that this experience will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse themselves in a new culture, practice their language skills, and make new friends from around the world.
Over the next month, we will explore the unique architecture of Antoni Gaudi, taste the delicious local cuisine, and learn about the history and culture of this vibrant city. The students will attend classes and participate in cultural activities, such as flamenco dancing and a visit to the famous Picasso Museum.
We can't wait to see how much our students will grow from this experience and how it will shape their perspectives on the world. It will definitely be a month to remember!
