Aquí estamos en Barcelona
After a long trip across the pond, we have made it to Barcelona. We arrived in 2 groups - some with a direct flight from Miama, FL and others from a JFK flight with a layover in Madrid, before arriving to Barcelona in the afternoon. We were greeted by CIEE Barcelona staff at the airport and made our way to the CIEE study center. There, we met our Spanish host families and were on our way. Sunday afternoon we acclimated ourselves to our new environment.
On Monday we all attended a virtual orientation to learn about the language program. We ended the virtual session taking the CIEE language pledge. On Tuesday, students enjoyed a neighborhood tour of Eixample, a picturesque "barrio" located close to the study center. Students were introduced to the houses of Antonio Gaudi, a famous architect from the early 20th century. He's also the same man who designed La Sagrada Familia and Parque Guell.
