And a 5, 6, 7, 8
On Monday, we didn't let a little rain stop us from dancing. Students went to a dance class and learned a traditional Mexican dance, the Cumbia. The Cumbia started in Columbia and is a fusion of Spanish heritage, a traditional African dance that came through the slave trade, and the indigenous people. From Columbia, it was brought over to Mexico. The students had a good time showing off their inner dancer even with some missteps here and there. Overall, it was a very fun afternoon and a great way to embody part of Mexican culture. What better way to bring some joy and fun to a rainy afternoon than dancing the Cumbia?
