Admiring les Beaux-Arts 🖼️
On today's excursion students visited Le Musée des Beaux-Arts. Program Leaders encouraged students to take photos of art work they found interesting, and present their chosen art work to the Program Leaders. When presenting their proposed image, every student used vocabulary learned during their excursion and also class lessons. This is the second week of the Program and students are feeling more comfortable in Rennes. Navigating the city is becoming easier for them and they're even learning the locals slang.
During the visit, there was two exhibitions for students to explore. Many students were drawn to the artwork from the 17th century but also the new exhibition on graffiti. The vibrant colors were eye-catching for many students as they compared graffiti from back home. Students noticed the different lettering and also how the graffiti is presented on different objects. It was great to hear student's point of view on how graffiti is a modern day form of expression that connects with everyone.
Finally, students left the museum with pictures of their favorite art work and even some small trinkets. Everyone was glad to have experienced this opportunity of visiting Le Musée des Beaux-Arts.
