What’s New in CIEE Europe
As the leader in international education, CIEE offers the most comprehensive programming for all academic calendars and areas of study, with the most financial support for students from all economic backgrounds. Effective January 2024, our commitment to access and support is expanding even further, with new locations, programs, and enhanced experiences for our Europe-based students.
Our expanded offerings, detailed below, provide scores of program options for students from every college and academic major to study abroad or embrace a global internship in Europe. From intensive language to business, liberal arts to science, experiential learning to service projects – and much more – CIEE has something for everyone.

Spain
Now offering programs in Alicante, Palma De Mallorca, Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, and Alcalá de Henares.

Spring 2024 Roadmap
CIEE is proud to offer a more streamlined program classification that follows a simple, easy-to-advise rubric. As detailed below, these classifications include Multidisciplinary Programs, Language Immersion Programs, and Discipline-Based Programs.
This new portfolio gives students full autonomy to select from an even larger variety of best-in-class study abroad programs that best suit their diverse academic needs, budgets, and interests. With our existing, updated, and new programs, students now get more: more locations, more programs, and more access.

Multidisciplinary Programs
- CIEE classes, host institution classes or a combination of both

- Offer classes in English with local language options where applicable
Language Immersion Programs
- CIEE classes, host institution classes or a combination of both
- Offer all classes in the local language
- Language course recommended (not required) if students demonstrate adequate proficiency
Discipline-Based Programs
- Designed for specific or thematic area of study
- CIEE classes, host institution classes or a combination of both
- Offer classes in English with local language options where applicable
- Language course required for Language & Culture programs
CIEE Spain Portfolio
Effective spring 2024, we are excited to welcome students year-round to Alicante and Palma De Mallorca, in addition to our existing Centers in Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, and Alcalá de Henares. This expanded portfolio makes CIEE the only study abroad provider with six locations in Spain!

CIEE Italy Portfolio
Beginning in 2024, we are pleased to expand our CIEE Italy portfolio to include 17+ robust semester, Open Campus Block, summer, J-term, and internship programs in three exciting cities: Rome, Florence, and Milan. In addition to the programs we currently offer in Rome, we’re introducing several new opportunities in Italy’s Eternal City, as well as welcoming students to our brand new centers in Florence in Milan.
