Living in Prague for six weeks was an unforgettable experience. Among the countless highlights, Stromovka Park in Holešovice became my serene haven. Located just a five-minute walk from my apartment, it was the perfect place to unwind, explore, and soak in the natural beauty of the city.

Stromovka is a sprawling park with lush greenery, winding pathways, and picturesque ponds. It’s a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike, offering something for everyone—whether it’s jogging, biking at the pump track, picnicking, working out, bringing kids to the playground, skating at the skatepark, grabbing a drink at the beer garden, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk. The spots that I spent the most time in were underneath the willows that hung over the ponds. I was living in Prague in late summer, so I used the willows to escape the heat and relax with a book, draw, or even just people watch. Prague had some funny characters.

Every weekend, I would start my routine with a visit to Supernova Cafe, a cool coffee spot near the park. Their coffee is solid, but the thing that makes them stand out is their pastries. They had a rotating selection of interesting pastries. I tried and loved all of them. I would then take my coffee and pastry, wander into Stromovka, and watch the city slowly come alive. The mix of historic charm and modern energy made it a unique and inspiring space.

One of my favorite memories was when some friends and I brought a speaker, a couple blankets, and some wine to Stromovka. We laid around, talked, and listened to music for hours, eventually watching the sun set over the tree. The sky lit up in shades of pink and orange, casting a magical glow over the water.

Stromovka Park was more than just a green space; it became a part of my routine and a cornerstone of my time in Prague. If you’re ever in the city, I highly recommend taking a stroll there.
