My First Time in a Karaoke Room
If there is one thing I wanted to cross off my list of things to do in South Korea it would be to go to a karaoke room. I have always seen people go to tv shows and movies and thought it would be so much fun! Despite how excited I was, there were some things I wish I knew beforehand. For starters, if you do not understand Korean then the controller for putting songs WILL BE your worst enemy. I remember the first time I went with my friends and we spent a good twenty minutes trying to figure it out (keep in mind that we bought the room for an hour). Luckily after getting some help from the Papago app we were able to figure it out...a little. There was also some other fun setting to try and change the tune of the microphone but my friends and I decided it would be best to not bother with it for now. Another important thing to know is that there are two different kinds of karaoke places. The first one is a coin karaoke room which requires you to pay for every song. The second one is where you just buy the room for an hour (I found this way to be easier). Other than that, being in a private area where you can sing your heart out was definitely one of the best moments I had in South Korea. Even if you are not the best singer, such as myself, it is all about having fun!
