CIEE leads change in BridgeUSA programs by raising awareness of how high-quality, high-relevance international exchange programs offer meaningful, life-changing, and life-enhancing opportunities to American businesses and American communities across the nation, while at the same time promoting economic prosperity, enhancing national security, and expanding public diplomacy.

Conferences

  • 11th Annual Young Civic Leadership Summit – Washington D.C.  –  This event, named for Ambassador Johnny and Mrs. Angie Young, brings 50 extraordinary young leaders from across the globe who are CIEE-sponsored participants on the BridgeUSA Summer Work Travel program together to learn, among other things, methods for working across national and cultural barriers to overcome challenges to peace in our world.
  • 2nd Annual International Exchange Conference – Washington D.C.  – The event on the theme “Democracy at Work” brings together 200+ BridgeUSA stakeholders, including employers, program alumni, U.S. volunteer host families, and more to celebrate the impact of intercultural exchange.

Initiatives

CIEE is the incubating sponsor of the Coalition for American Public Diplomacy and Leadership (CAPDL) which relaunched in 2025 with a focus on education, best practices sharing, and storytelling in support of the whole BridgeUSA community.
