We're Off to Brussels!
Tracy Morrison's Blog Post:
For our last weekend adventure in Europe we headed to Belgium. After a four hour bus ride we arrived at the bustling city center of Brussels.
Upon arrival we had a quick lunch and headed straight to the European Parliament and were allowed to view the Hemicycle. Students learned it is the vibrant heart of European democracy where Members of the Parliament gather during plenary sessions to hold the largest and most important debates. It also provides the setting for historic votes that change the way people live across the European Union.
After a long day of travel and exploring the European Parliament, we headed to our hostel to check in. We had a delicious dinner at Le Cirque where we dined on shrimp, pasta, and mussels. Students ended the day shopping and sampling the famous Belgium waffles and chocolate, which we all agreed did not disappoint!
