WELCOME TO BERLIN
First week in Berlin! As all of the Engineering & Innovation students arrived on Sunday to CIEE campus, we had a brief orientation in the lounge before we headed out for a tour of the neighborhood with the Program Leaders and RAs. We saw the Sunday flea market, as well as all the local restaurants, pharmacies, book stores, convenience stores, coffee shops, and much more! The students got their first taste of German culture. We ended the first day off with a pizza party in the lounge before all of the jet-lagged students headed to bed early to prepare for the next full day of activities!
Monday consisted of a Berlin city tour, focusing on the history and politics of Berlin. Lunch took place at the Markthalle with the PLs, and a supermarket run to stock everyones refrigerators for the week. Tuesday was the first day of class and full freedom for lunch and dinner. In the afternoon we headed to some museums in the city center, and the students had lots of free time to explore the neighborhood and spend some time outside in the amazing Berlin weather!
We will be documenting our journey as a group with an awesome film camera! Stay tuned for the photos :)
