Australian Wildlife Conservation From Land to Sea

It's hard to believe HSSA 2 is in its final week in Australia, but what an incredible experience we have all had. This week started off with two fantastic days. On Monday, students went to Centennial Parklands, considered the green lung of Sydney, a very large park with ponds and trails, and many micro-ecosystems. Students began at the discovery center with our instructor and our guide for the day. We had a chance to do some water testing and check out macroorganisms. After we ate some lunch, we had an incredible and inspiring workshop with local urban beekeepers. We got a chance to actually harvest some honey ourselves and bring home our own little jar of honey. On Tuesday, we took quite a long bus ride up to the top of Sydney, to the Northern Beaches. We had an incredible guide who taught us about the mangroves, mudflats, and unique ecosystems of the area. A highlight may have been at the end when we found some cool jellyfish in the mudflats!
