Visit to Kyoto Bousai (Natural Disaster Protection) Center
Today we hopped on the train and set out for the Kyoto Bousai (Natural Disaster Protection) Center. On our way there, we saw one of Nintendo’s offices and a beautiful temple from a distance. Once we arrived at the Kyoto Bousai Center, we learned about Kyoto’s history of natural disasters. We also simulated appropriate responses for disasters such as earthquakes, fires, and floods. While the likelihood that we’ll have to put these skills to use is remote, it’s reassuring to know that we now have the knowledge to protect ourselves and others while living in Japan.
