Villa Borghese through art and bikes
May the odds be ever in our “not” favor… From major bus delays to Google maps problems… The group eventually made it to Villa Borghese Gallery! Participants learned all about the major art pieces found in the Villa, mainly the statues by Bernini and paintings by Caravaggio. May I just say that Bernini’s statues were absolutely breathtaking! The way the figures are perfectly sculpted in the marble creating such beautiful lines, images, and emotions. I think every participant felt the power of those sculptures.
After eating yummy sandwiches and relaxing in the Villa Borghese Park, the participants had Italian class while riding bikes around the park. The activity was kind of like a treasure hunt; they had to bike around and look for and recognize specific things.
Even though the day started off in the wrong way, the situation quickly turned around and the day became wonderful and full of fun activities!
