Shakespeare’s Globe
What a day full of history and fun! We were lucky enough to not only get to your the Globe with an amazing tour guide, but we saw a production of King Lear starting Kathryn Hunter in the evening! We got to play the roles of Groundlings, standing close to the stage with the action. Some of our students even were frightened to find an actor right behind them!
Students also had time at Platform 9 3/4 to get some photos and enjoy the shop at King's Cross Station. Our Harry Potter fans were very excited!
Between the Globe tour and King Lear, our theatre instructor Simon lead class on the grass outside the Tate Modern to prepare students to see a powerhouse play such as King Lear. Students acted out scenes and learned all about the characters.
After the show, we had a beautiful walk back over the Thames to see London at night over the Millennium Bridge.
