Rest and Recharging in Nature
Self-care and recharging is also really important while engaging in service! So, between work students summited Table Mountian by cable car and hiked around the top. Lucking there was no "tablecloth" on the mountain that morning! A "tablecloth" refers to when there is a layer of fog on the mountain.
Students also took a hike up to Elephant's Eye trail Our group had a lot of fun enjoying the scenery from high above Cape Town and seeing the neighborhoods from a bird's eye view! At the top, we reached Eagles Eye Cave where we stopped for lunch, and on the way down we went to a popular swimming area to sit and relax. On the hike we encountered a lot of flora that is completely unique to this ecosystem.
We also took an excursion Kalk Bay during free time where we took some "retail therapy" and went to buy handicrafts, antiques and goods. We also enjoyed some ice-cream near the ocean and saw some seals!
