Creative Writing in Literary London

It’s currently raining, and I’m listening to the Spice Girls in my hotel room reflecting on the incredible time we’ve had in London these past two weeks.  During our final week, we have a few more fun activities and sites left to explore before we depart home.

On Monday, we spent the afternoon in Kew Gardens admiring a plethora of flowers, plants, and trees, including the iconic whomping willow featured in the Harry Potter movie, “Chamber of Secrets.”  Students enjoyed roaming the outdoor gardens, walking trails, and glasshouses.  After a busy weekend, several students found a relaxing spot to read one of their newly purchased books.  My favorite part of Kew Gardens was the Treetop Walkway which enabled you to observe trees from 60 feet (18 meters) above the ground.

After class on Tuesday, we visited the Twist Museum on Oxford Street.  Students got up close and personal with interactive illusions and immersive rooms.  I’ve never been to a museum like this before; it was a really cool place to explore!  Check out a few photos from our visit:
