Orientation at AMANC!
On Tuesday, our second full day in Yucatan we visited our primary service location, AMANC, The Mexican Association for Helping Children with Cancer. We toured the building and met a child receiving support. AMANC is a comprehensive organization that provides lodging, meals, travel expenses, and social support for children in their families who are receiving treatment for childhood cancer. Students learned about some of the activities that they will be participating in. Part of AMANC's mission is raising awareness for early detection via social media. Today, students took pictures to post on their social media to support this goal and also assisted in re-vamping the Lego display in the reception area. Students expressed excitement for all of the wonderful projects they will complete at AMANC.
