La Villa la Isabela

What a beautiful jewel of the Caribbean this island is! Our group had the excellent privilege of travelling to the Puerto Plata province to visit La Villa la Isabela--the first settlement of Christopher Columbus in the Americas. The ruins there were very interesting and the sights were truly incredible. We even got a few hours at the beach! We learned a lot, communicated in Spanish, took a lot of photos, reflected on the way home and probably all collapsed in bed afterward. A beautiful trip!
